What the weather here is

Sir Francis Drake Channel is one of the most protected stretches of water in the Caribbean, which is why the territory is the chartering capital of the region — and why Irma's passage directly over Tortola in 2017, at 285 km/h, was so comprehensive. The islands are dry, hilly and steep-sided, with the same cistern economy as the USVI next door.

Where the official forecast is

This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for British Virgin Islands comes from BVI Department of Disaster Management. During a tropical cyclone the advisory that everything else follows is the National Hurricane Center's.

What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
