The numbers
What the weather here is
The most rugged island in the eastern Caribbean and easily the wettest — over 7,000 mm a year on the interior ridges, feeding 365 rivers into a country 750 km² in size. That relief is why Maria intensified over it in 2017 and why the damage was so nearly total: there is nowhere on Dominica that is both low and sheltered.
Where the official forecast is
This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Dominica comes from Dominica Meteorological Service. During a tropical cyclone the advisory that everything else follows is the National Hurricane Center's.
What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
