The numbers
What the weather here is
The Blue Mountains rise to 2,250 m within 15 km of the north coast, and they split the island cleanly: the windward parishes take 5,000 mm a year while Kingston, tucked in the lee on the south coast, takes around 800 mm and irrigates. The northeast trades are so reliable that the old Port Royal sailing directions still work.
Where the official forecast is
This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Jamaica comes from Meteorological Service of Jamaica. During a tropical cyclone the advisory that everything else follows is the National Hurricane Center's.
What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
