What the weather here is
The Soufrière Hills volcano buried Plymouth in 1997 and the southern two-thirds of the island remain an exclusion zone, so the capital, the airport and the population all moved north. Ash dispersal here is a routine forecast product, and it depends on the same low-level easterly that brings the island its rain.
Where the official forecast is
This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Montserrat comes from Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service. During a tropical cyclone the advisory that everything else follows is the National Hurricane Center's.
What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
