The numbers
What the weather here is
The isthmus runs east–west here, so the Pacific coast is south of the Caribbean one and the sun rises over the Pacific. Panama sits far enough south to be effectively outside the hurricane belt, but the canal is a rainfall problem end to end: every transit spends around 200 million litres of Gatún Lake water, and an El Niño dry season is measured in draft restrictions on ships.
Where the official forecast is
This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Panama comes from IMHPA. During a tropical cyclone the advisory that everything else follows is the National Hurricane Center's.
What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
