What the weather here is

The flattest country on the continent, with no relief to modify anything — so the weather is entirely a matter of which air mass has arrived. The pampero comes off the pampas behind a cold front as a sudden southwesterly windshift with a temperature drop behind it, and the Río de la Plata estuary turns it into a surge problem for Montevideo and Buenos Aires alike.

Where the official forecast is

This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Uruguay comes from INUMET. During a tropical cyclone the advisory that everything else follows is the National Hurricane Center's.

What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
