The numbers
What the weather here is
Long, narrow and oriented across the track, which means a storm crossing Cuba usually crosses the whole width of it. The Sierra Maestra in the southeast is the wettest ground and the only real relief; the rest is low enough that surge, not terrain, is the hazard. Winter brings the sur ahead of North American cold fronts and then the front itself, which is as close to a cold season as the tropics get.
Where the official forecast is
This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Cuba comes from INSMET. During a tropical cyclone the advisory that everything else follows is the National Hurricane Center's.
What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
