The numbers
What the weather here is
The widest part of the isthmus, and the wettest: the Mosquitia coast takes the trades head-on and runs to 3,000 mm. Hurricane Mitch stalled over the country for four days in 1998 and dropped close to 1,900 mm on the mountains, and every rainfall map and evacuation plan in Honduras is still drawn against that event.
Where the official forecast is
This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Honduras comes from Cenaos — COPECO. During a tropical cyclone the advisory that everything else follows is the National Hurricane Center's.
What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
