The numbers
What the weather here is
The Nicaraguan depression is the lowest gap in the whole cordillera, and the trades funnel through it hard enough to make Lake Nicaragua a genuinely rough body of water and to give the Papagayo jet its start. The Caribbean side at Bluefields takes over 4,000 mm a year; the Pacific side, in the lee of the same wind, takes a quarter of it.
Where the official forecast is
This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Nicaragua comes from INETER. During a tropical cyclone the advisory that everything else follows is the National Hurricane Center's.
What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
