What the weather here is
Lima gets about 6 mm of rain a year and is overcast for half of it — the garúa, a coastal fog held in by the temperature inversion the Humboldt current creates, which supplies moisture without precipitation. Over the Andes the same country holds the Amazon headwaters and 2,000 mm of rain, and between them the glaciated Cordillera Blanca that both sides depend on for dry-season water.
Where the official forecast is
This site is not a warning service. The official forecast and every watch and warning for Peru comes from SENAMHI. During a tropical cyclone the advisory that everything else follows is the National Hurricane Center's.
What is on this page is the raw observation — the METAR itself, from the aerodrome named above it — with nothing added and nothing forecast.
